The Nigeria Cricket Federation has released a 14 man list and 2 standby players that will represent the country in the Invitational women’s tournament in Ghana later this month. The players have been in camp for the last 10 days in Kaduna undergoing series of trial matches. The Chairman board of Selectors, Mr. George Wilshire, the head of technical NCF and Members of the coaching crew were all part of the selection panel.

According to the statement made by the head of selector’s panel, the names mentioned have satisfactorily been considered as the best 14 to represent the country noting however that there is a lot of work to be done in the remaining days prior to the tournament in Ghana.

The names of the 14 that will represent the country include:

Expressing satisfaction at the job done by the selectors, the president of the Federation Prof. Yahaya Adam Ukwenya urged the girls that have been selected to work hard as they go into close camping stressing that only a selection have been made thus far and a team has to be built. He further encouraged those that did not make the cut to remain strong and steadfast in training as there will be other opportunities in the near future to break into the team anytime.

The team will remain in close camping for the next 10 days where they will fly to Ghana on the 16th January 2018 and the tournament will run till the 24th of January 2018.
