The Nigeria National Women’s team returned home with heads help up high after an impressive display in Ghana, winning 2 games out of 3 in the Women’s invitational tournament hosted by Ghana.

Game 1: Ghana v Gambia
Gambia won the toss and elected to bat first scoring a total of 111 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.
In the second innings, Ghana chased down the scored to record an impressive total of 112 for the loss of 3 wickets in 13 overs.
Ghana won by 7 wickets.
Game 2: Nigeria v Sirrea Leone
Nigeria won the toss and elected to bat scoring a total of 66 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.
In the second innings, the Nigeria team responded with some bowling spectacle by Captain Etim Blessing strongly supported by Samson Rachel with 3 and 2 wickets respectively limiting Sirrea Leone to just 15 runs after 7 overs. Sirrea Leone eventually got their acts together and scored a total of 67 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 14 overs
Sirrea Leone won by 3 wickets.
Day 2: Game 3: Ghana v Nigeria
The Rivalry battle between Ghana and Nigeria for supremacy and of course the bragging rights were laid before everyone in this epic battle. Nigeria needed a win to remain contenders for the trophy could have one hand on the trophy if they emerge victors.
Nigeria won the toss and elected to bat first scoring a total of 128 runs for the loss 6 wickets in 20 overs… Samantha Agazuma with 24 runs, Agatha Obulor 22 runs and fyneface fate 16 runs were the best performers with the bat for Nigeria.
In the second innings, Ghana put up a really decent fight chasing the game to the last over but fell short of the required total to record a score of 124 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.
Nigeria won the match by 4 runs.
Game 4: Gambia vs Sirrea Leone
Gambia won the toss and elected to bat first scoring a total of 53 runs all out in 19.3 overs.
In the second innings, Sirrea Leone chased down the score very quickly recording a total of 55 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 8 overs.
Sirrea Leone won by 8 wickets
Day 3: Game 5 Gambia v Nigeria
The final round of matches kicked off today with every team seeking victory to stand a chance to win the trophy.
Gambia won the toss and elected to field first sending in Nigeria to bat. Nigeria scored a total of 138 runs for the loss of 6 Wickets in 20 overs.
In the second innings, Gambia but up a brave fight but fell short of the required total to score 78 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs
Nigeria won by 60 runs.
Game 6: Ghana v Sirrea Leone
Sirrea Leone won the toss and elected to bat first scoring a total of 106 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.
In the second innings, Ghana quickly chased down the score to record 107 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 17.5 overs
Ghana won by 3 wickets
After all 6 games have been played, NRR was used to determine the winner and runners up of the tournament as Ghana, Sirrea Leone and Nigeria won 2 games respectively….
