Game 1. Ghana vs Gambia 

Ghana won the toss and elected to bat. They had a field day on the crease starting with an impressive runs build-up that totaled 165 runs at the end of 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets – though one would have expected more runs from the Ghanaians judging from how they started their batting.

R Bakum scored 64 runs off 51 balls with a strike rate of 125.49 while DNA Ankrah batted 44 runs off 24 balls with the strike rate of 183.33.

Andre Jarju and A Conteh took two wickets each for Gambia.

Ghana recorded a convincing victory against Gambia in the second innings of the game to claim their fourth straight victory in the ICC World Twenty20 Africa Qualifier “A” 2018 stopping Gambia at a meager 56 runs all out in 14.1 overs.

BASIRU JAYE batted 11 runs off 10 balls with a strike rate of 110 to top the runs build-up for his team while ANERU CONTEH followed suite with 10 runs off 16 balls with the strike rate of 62.5.

Ghananian bowler MARK BAWA took 5 wickets to guide his team to a comfortable win by a margin of 109 runs. He also won the Player of the Match award.

Game 2. Sierra Leone vs Nigeria.

Nigeria won the toss and elected to bat. In the first innings, Nigeria had a poor start on the crease, which brought them to a total of 120 runs at the end of 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets.

Gim Daniel scored 30 runs off 29 balls with a strike rate of 103.44 while Onwuzulike Chimezie batted 23 runs off 25 balls with a strike rate of 92.00. Okpe Isaac also contributed, batting 22 runs off 22 balls with a strike rate of 100.00.

Hari Ram Bhamu and Richard Tommy took two wickets each for Sierra Leone to help keep Nigeria at a total of 120 runs.

The second innings saw Nigeria recording another victory after beating Sierra Leone for the second time in the ICC World Twenty20 Africa Qualifier “A”. Sierra Leone gave a good chase putting up 114 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs after Nigeria played 120 runs in the 1st innings.

Edward Ngegba batted 39 runs off 30 balls with a strike rate of 130 to help his team edge towards a near victory against Nigeria while Lansana Lamin batted 18 runs off 17 balls with a strike rate of 105.88.

Taiwo Mohammed helped Nigeria win by 6 runs through his impressive bowling performance. He got 1 wicket with 1 maiden over, while conceding only 8 runs after bowling his 4 allotted overs. This made him bag the Person of the Match Award.
