The Africa Cricket Association (ACA) Africa Cup, North-west Africa qualifier began today at the prestigious Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval, Lagos Nigeria with 5 countries namely; Cameroon, Gambia, Ghana Sierra Leone and host Nigeria in participation.
Opening fixtures for the tournament started with Ghana vs Gambia and the afternoon Fixtures between Nigeria and Sierra Leone. Cameroon will play their first game on Tuesday 24th April 2018 having rested on the first day

Ghana vs The Gambia
Ghana won the toss and elected to bat first scoring a total of 163 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.
Simon Ateak (Ghana) scored 65 runs off 53 balls with a strike rate of 122.64 while Rexford Bakun scored 60 runs off 49 balls with the strike rate of 122.45.
In the second innings, The Gambia chased but total but could only manage a total score 83 runs, all out, in 18 overs.
Joseph Badjan topped the batting for his team scoring 16 runs off 25 balls with the strike rate of 64.
Mark Bawa (Ghana) took three wickets while David Mario Pereira and Samson Kwasi Awe Awiah took two wickets each.
Ghana won by 80 runs.

Nigeria vs Sierra Leone
Nigeria won the toss and elected to bat first scoring a total of 148 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Chimezie Onwuzulike topped the batting with 41 runs off 40 balls with a strike rate of 102.50. Isaac Okpe followed suite with a quick 34 runs off 13 balls (not out) with a strike rate of 261.54.
In the second innings, Sierra Leone put up a good fight but were restricted to 89 runs all out in 18.1 overs. Mohammed Taiwo took 3 wickets to help Nigeria win by 59 runs.
