ICC Development Officer, Justine Ligyalingi has concluded tour of Nigeria.
The familiarization visit of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Development Officer, Justine Ligyalingi to Nigeria has ended in Nigeria. The event was anchored on meetings with the officials of Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) and inspection of facilities in Abuja and Lagos.
The encounters at both FCT Abuja and Lagos state was appreciated as it afforded the parties the platform to dialogue and share experiences on the way forward.
At the package B of the National Stadium, Abuja on the 21st and 22nd July, the soft spoken ICC Development Officer and former General Manager of Uganda Cricket inspected the three (3) grounds and appreciated the effort, vision and target of the federation to put the facilities in top shape. After the inspection, extensive and fruitful meetings with the NCF officials on development and growth of the game was held with the President of the federation, Prof. Yahaya Ukwenya, the acting General Manager, Emeka Igwilo, board members Sanmi Ajayi, Dare Aimola and Taiwo Oriss (Secretary General of NCF) in attendance.
Issues on challenges, prospects and aspirations of member nation and targets of ICC were items that dominated the progressive interactions.
At Lagos on the 23rd July, it was another experience of the inspection of the facilities at the Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket oval, venue of the just concluded ICC WT20 Africa Qualifier A and the ACA T20 Africa cup.
The nets, ground, pavilion and other facilities were inspected before a brief meeting that was attended by NCF Board member/Chairman, Development Committee, Endurance Ofem, Chairman, Technical Committee, Kofi Sagoe and Chairman, Cricket Club Committee, Lagos, Charles Omoera.
The sessions at the Abuja and Lagos all ended with the both parties fully energized to put in place the recommendations that will help grow the federation’s numbers and scorecards in the international cricket.
