South-East cricket is currently buzzing with holiday Coaching clinic which kicked off at Government Secondary School, Afikpo, Ebonyi state. Afikpo, a resurging hub for cricket activities in the zone, hosted the event which saw over 80 students (male and female) taking part in the clinic witch is aimed at improving the skills of Cricketers and teaching new students the rudiments of the game.
The clinic which started on the 25th of July, 2018 saw the students engage in practice matches to help improve their quality of play. The clinic is expected to end on the 4th of August. It can be easily recalled that Afikpo has been the hub of the game of Cricket having produced fine cricketers of repute in the past.
The Cricket Clinic was solely sponsored by the member representing South-East in the board of Nigeria Cricket Federation, Mr. Chika Okoro and is being anchored by Mr. Chike Mbamalu, a veteran of the game.
The program is expected to usher the zone into the National Youth Games zonal qualifiers and eventually the finals in Ilorin in September.
