ENUGU STATE CRICKET ASSOCIATION CONDUCTS 1 DAY SEMINAR ON INTRODUCTION TO CRICKET

 

The Enugu State Cricket Association under the able chairmanship of Mr. Ogbonnaya Okogeri has successfully conducted a one-day Introduction to Cricket Seminar for selected secondary schools in Enugu state. The seminar took place on the 23rd of July 2021 at the indoor sports hall of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

 

Mr. Ikem Asika started the session while Mr. Alex Mbamalu continued explaining more details of what the game of cricket is and how it is played. Charles Obasi later concluded with opportunities that await the young lads in the game of cricket before the seminar proceeded to the practical session. Cricketers around played a short match while some students volunteered as fielders.

 

The Secretary ESCA later explained the plan of ESCA to visit the schools and consolidate on the gains of the seminar to rapidly develop cricket in the state. High point of the seminar was the donation of cricket starter packs to the nine schools that participated. A certificate of participation was also issued to the schools.

 

The P.R.O of the Enugu State Sports Council, Mr. Dan Onwuegbuna thanked the Chairman ESCA for his passion and also for sponsoring the event. He also thanked the schools for honoring the invitation, pledging that the sports council will do all they can to support the growth and development of the Cricket in the state.

  7. University of Nigeria Secondary School, Nsukka.
  8. Technical Vocational College, Mgbowo
  9. St. Theresa’s College Nsukka.
