Gracious, glorious and very impacting was the description for the “Introduction to Cricket program” in Anambra State, which took place on the Thursday, 15th day of July 2021 at Bishop Crowther Seminary, Awka.
The event facilitator Mr. Ikem Asika took time to explain the modus operandi of the game. Apart from the video clips and highlights of Cricket techniques, Batting, Bowling and Fielding skills were also thought. The second session of the program was the on field demonstration of the game which was led by Okafor Somtochukwu. Participants were equally given opportunity to exhibit what they have learnt, which they did incredibly well.
In attendance was the Director of Sports Anambra State, Mr Obidinma Emeka who handed over the certificate of participation to the participants. Other Government officials include the Secretary of Anambra State Cricket Association, Mr. Osita Obijiofor.
Students, Coaches, Game Masters and Mistresses from 15 Secondary schools across the state took part in the program bringing the total participants to 50. Coaching will resume in the various schools after the holidays.
