The culture of veteran cricket matches has come to stay and has become a norm in southeast Nigeria. This initiative of the South East Cricket Association (SECA) is aimed at bringing all cricket veterans together to relish good old playing days and also find ways to help the game grow in the zone and beyond.
The first south east veteran’s cricket match was held at St, Patrick College, Emene, Enugu state. The second was held at Government Secondary School, Imo state. The 3rd will be held at Umuahia township stadium, Abia state on Friday, 15th April 2022.
Expected Veterans include the convener, Mr. Chika Okoro, Ven. Prof. Jacob Onyechi, Barr. Chuma Anosike, Ogbonnaya Okogeri, Emeka Igwilo, Olisa Egwuatu, Ikem Asika, Alex Mbamalu, Tony Ajaelu, Emeka Onyeama and many others.
The 3rd edition of the SECA Veterans match is hosted by Eld. James Okwara with a special appearance by the Nigerian Cricket Federation President, Mr. Uyi Akpata.
