The Nigeria Cricket Federation has proudly announced the 14-player squad that will represent the nation at the Kwibuka Women’s T20 International Tournament, set to take place from 30th May to 8th June 2024. This prestigious event, held annually to commemorate the victims of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, the tournament brings together Women’s cricket teams from various nations in a celebration of unity and sportsmanship.
Leading the Nigerian side will be the dynamic and experienced Favour Eseigbe, who has been named captain, supporting Favour in her leadership role is the talented vice-captain, Abigail Igbobie.
A notable inclusion in the squad is Anointed Akhigbe, a promising young talent who has recently made waves in the domestic cricket scene. Anointed’s selection marks her debut in the national team, and she is expected to bring fresh energy and enthusiasm to the squad, other members of the team are :
