The tournament began with a hard-fought victory over Tanzania, where Nigeria clinched a 4-wicket win, setting the tone for their campaign. The second match saw the Yellow Greens put up a remarkable bowling display against Zimbabwe, bundling out their opponents for just 77 runs in 19.4 overs. Despite a close chase, Nigeria triumphed by 1 wicket.
Their final group game was a dominant performance against Malawi. After posting a total of 147 runs, Nigeria’s bowling unit came through once again, dismissing Malawi for only 61 runs, sealing an emphatic 86-run victory.
