The Nigeria National Team AKA Yellow Greens successfully participated for the first time in the Africa T-20 Cup in Paarl, South Africa. The Yellow Greens, who gave a decent account of themselves, played 4 games against Boland, North West, Northern Cape and Limpopo. Although failed to qualify for the knock out phase, a lot of positives have been taking from the tournament going into the future.
Yousuf Ovais, Onikoyi Ademola , Chimezie Onwuzilike were amongst the players impressive with the bat while Isaac Okpe, Abiodun Abioye and Iteogu Chibuike were also brilliant with the ball.
According to the Coach, Evidently there are lots of works to be done. The positives from this tournament simply mean that Nigeria is on the path to greatness. We will continue to work hard especially with the pool of young stars we have in the country he said.
