The Nigeria Cricket Federation is set to host the 3rd edition of the NCF Women’s T-20 International invitational tournament in Lagos. The tournament which has become an annual engagement will have 5 countries participating. The countries are Defending Champions Rwanda, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Cameroon and host Nigeria.
Cameroon will make their debut in this tournament while The Gambia who were part of the last event have opted out due to personal reasons. The tournament will provide the much needed platform for women’s cricket to thrive in the continent and also be used as basis for ICC Africa and Global rankings.
Teams are expected to arrive on the 25th of March and depart on the 3rd of April with 6 playing match days. the tournament will be on a round robin format where the top 2 teams will play in the finals to determine the champions.
As part of the Federation’s drive to promote ”Gender Equity” in the game, there will be a balance of technical officials for the tournament with 3 male and Female members of the playing control team (PCT).
