This competition is sponsored by WELL ENERGY; a brainchild of the member representing South-East on the Nigeria Cricket Federation Board Mr. Chika Okoro. The 4 days competition is set to showcase the Secondary School Cricket talents from the five states in the South-East.

The host principal, Mr John Ulunnachi showed resolve and readiness of his school to host the South-East in style. He opined that the tournament has boosted the level of enthusiasm among the students and will also boost Cricket development in the state. “This tournament signals the return of Cricket tradition in Government College Afikpo because the young ones are becoming more interested in the game”, he said. He further expressed his gratitude to the sponsor, Mr. Chika Okoro who is also an old boy of the school, and encouraged other stakeholders to sponsor Cricket in the zone.
