Peter Umeadi Foundation introduce Cricket to Six primary school in Anambra State with beginners equipment donated
Building on the first phase of the Peter Umeadi Foundation’s Cricket Wild Fire program held two months ago at Bishop Crowther Seminary, Awka, Anambra State (which focused more on training games teachers on the basics of the game), the foundation held the second phase that saw over 100 school kids from six primary schools across the state participating in a mini-cricket extravaganza.
In this phase, the foundation visited all the schools as games teachers trained the kids under the supervision of the Anambra State Cricket Association. This second stage supported the work of the teachers who attended the first phase.
Participating schools include:
* Unizik Primary School, Awka.
* Demonstration Primary School, Awka
* Udoka Primary School, Awka
* Igwedinma Primary School, Awka
* Community Primary School, Nri
* Central Primary School, Nri.
At the end of the clinic, bat-shapes, branded T-shirts, wickets and soft balls where donated by the foundation to aid continues play in these schools.
