Mr Uyi Akpata donates face mask to South-South Cricket State Associations
In this Ravaging era of Covid-19 where precautionary measures are being taken, a man whom have greatly impacted the lives of people in Nigeria and across the globe and has regularly become an instrument of blessings in the hands of God, have once again extended his generosity, love, care and consideration to people in his immediate constituency in regards to the Cricket family.
The man behind the many smiles of people, non-other than Mr. Uyi Akpata, Member representing the South-South on the Board of the Nigeria Cricket Federation, Vice President of the Federation and Chairman Edo State Cricket Association, again have instinctively contributed his quota in the prevention and spread of the Covid-19 among Cricketers in the South-South. Mr. Akpata who ordered a whooping total of One Thousand (1000) pieces of high grade face masks to be distributed among the six Cricket state associations in the South-South Region, explained the reason for this uncommon display of leadership.
In a telephone conversation with Mr. Akpata, he said the gesture to distribute the face mask was his little contribution and part of his responsibility as the member representing the zone on the N.C.F Board as a precautionary mechanism against the pandemic and also in line with the directives of the Federal government of Nigeria. He also advised every Cricketer to maintain social distancing policy, wash their hands often and when that is not readily available, use hand sanitizers.
‘’I hope that this pandemic can be a thing of the past very soon and we can all return to being involved in the sport for which we all have come to love and cherish. Until then, i encourage everyone to be patient, prayerful and above all, stay safe he said.’’
The distribution of the face mask cannot be timelier as the government gradually eases the lock-down order which will see an increase in daily activities. Cricketers are advised to take advantage of this gesture and protect themselves.
