Mr Uyi Akpata donates training equipment to Ekpoma

Mr. UYI AKPATA CHAIRMAN EDO STATE CRICKET ASSOCIATION DONATES NEW CRICKET EQUIPMENT TO EKPOMA AS CRICKET ACTIVITIES GRADUALLY RESUMES IN THE STATE.

 

It was a pleasant surprise on Saturday 29th August, 2020, when Cricketers resumed training at Ambrose Alli University Secondary School Ekpoma, one of the training venues for zone 2 approved by the association in Edo State as Cricket activities gradually resumes. Different bat and bat shape sizes, balls and other training equipment for senior, junior and beginners were donated by Mr. Uyi Akpata, Chairman Edo State Cricket Association and Vice President, Nigeria Cricket Federation.

Christopher Okhide, resident coach in Ekpoma who received the equipment on behalf of the zone, thanked the Chairman for his timely intervention and dedication to the growth and development of the sport in that zone and across Edo State in general. “I want to assure the State Chairman Mr. Uyi Akpata that this equipment donated will be judiciously utilized to maximum capacity especially in grassroots development and the transition from junior to senior Cricket he said”

 

It is noteworthy to mention the excitements and joy expressed by the in appreciation and prayers for Mr. Uyi Akpata. The players are hopeful that the much purported National Sports Festival will still hold this year as they look forward to full training regime by the state.

Edo State became the first state to resume Cricket activities in the country and they have been able to organize series of meetings and trainings on the safety measures to return back to Cricket. A fortnight ago, the state association also received Hand washing and sanitizing machines donated by PETS Foundation alongside equipment for training.
